Liposuction of the Breast and Body
Liposuction is a minimally invasive surgical technique that contours all regions of the body, resulting a more youthful and sculpted appearance. Excellent liposuction results depend on removing a sufficient amount of fat to contour the body, but leaving enough fat behind for the result to be smooth and natural appearing.
Regions of the body that can be contoured with liposuction include
- Abdomen (tummy)
- Flanks (love handles)
- Thighs and calves
- Buttocks
- Arms
- Neck
- Breast
- Bra Rolls
- Male chest
Liposuction relies on the skin's natural elastic properties, which allow the skin to contract down around the reduced volume of each treated area. Patients with youthful and elastic skin tend have the best results with liposuction. Patients with significant stretch marks and loose folds of skin do not benefit from liposuction treatment and should consider other types of body contouring surgery.
We offer the latest liposuction technology, including tumescent and power assisted liposuction.
Many new liposuction devices have been introduced into the market recently, all claiming to cause skin 'tightening' in addition to removing fat. These devices include the use of lasers (like SmartLipo and CoolLipo), ultra-sound energy (Vaser) or water jets (BodyJet).
A good liposuction result is most dependant on the surgeon, and not the particular liposuction device used.

Our liposuction technique is called Fractional Liposuction and uses tumescent technique and a power assisted liposculpting (PAL) instrument. With the Fractional Liposuction technique, substantial amounts of body fat are removed. Some layers of fatty tissue are preserved to create a smooth and sculpted liposuction result.
Dr. Gottlieb will plan your liposuction procedure by examining the region to be treated, and its relationship to the local zones of adhesion. Meticulous planning of liposuction procedures is essential for a smooth post-operative contour.
During a liposuction procedure, patient safety and comfort is our top priority. Our laser liposuction and PAL technique can be can be performed without a general anesthesia, reducing the risk of side effects considerably. For the most rapid recovery, tumescent liposuction can also be done while you are awake, or under 'twilight sedation'.
Our liposuction treatments work best for relatively healthy people who wish to eliminate small, unwanted fat deposits from their thighs, hips, upper arms, and buttocks.
Patients return to work and exercise after a couple of days following our liposuction procedures.
Liposuction procedures are often combined with breast augmentation and tummy tuck procedures for a Mommy Makeover rejuvenation.
